Scholar profile

Jan Schür erlangte 2003 sein Diplom in Elektrotechnik an der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). Als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter arbeitete er im Anschluss an das Studium am Lehrstuhl für Hochfrequenztechnik (LHFT) der FAU auf dem Gebiet der THz-Technik. Im Jahr 2013 erfolgte der Abschluss der Promotion. 2008 erhielt der als Vortragender den Best Podium Presentation Award der German Microwave Conference (GeMiC) 2008 in Hamburg/Harburg.
Derzeit ist Jan Schür als Akademischer Direktor in der Funktion des Gruppenleiters “Non-Destructive Testing, Material Characterization and THz Technology” am Lehrstuhl für Hochfrequenztechnik beschäftigt. Er ist Mitglied des Fakultätsrates der Technischen Fakultät, des Konvents der wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter, des Beirats des Regionalen Rechenzentrums Erlangen (RRZE), dem CIO/IO Gremium der FAU sowie der Studienkommission EEI.
Im Jahr 2015 war Jan Schür Operational Office Chair der German Microwave Conference (GeMiC), 2017 Operational Office Co-Chair der European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2017 und 2018 Financial Chair der IEEE International Conference on Microwaves for Intelligent Mobility (ICMIM).
Jan Schür is konstituierendes Mitglied des Fachausschuss “Mikrowellen- und Terahertzverfahren” der Deutschen Gesellschaft für zerstörungsfreie Prüfung e.V. und Mitglied im Fachausschuss “8.17 THz-Systeme” der VDE/VDI-Gesellschaft Mess- und Automatisierungstechnik.
